II. Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

While Confused Productions, LLC strives to adhere to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, we acknowledge that as a small business entity, we may not yet meet all specific criteria across every platform. We are actively working to identify and resolve accessibility barriers to ensure an inclusive experience.

III. Features & Multimedia

Our "Data Stack" involves several media formats where we aim for the following:

  • Audio Content: For our podcasts (Helium Headspace and Ink & Oxygen), we strive to provide transcripts or descriptive summaries where feasible.
  • Video Content: For The Confused Idealist series, we utilize third-party platforms (YouTube) to provide automated or manual closed captioning.
  • E-Commerce: Our storefront, The Shy Phoenix, is powered by Shopify. We select themes and apps designed for high navigability, though third-party fulfillment plugins (like Printful) may have independent accessibility profiles.

IV. Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of our Network, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations:

  • Third-Party Content: Our websites integrate with third-party platforms (Instagram/Meta Pixels, MailChimp, and YouTube). We cannot control the accessibility of these third-party interfaces.
  • Legacy Content: Older podcast episodes or archived graphic designs may not yet have full alternative text or transcripts.
  • Small Business Disclosure: As noted in our Terms of Use (Section VII, B), we disclaim liability for accessibility barriers provided we make reasonable efforts to assist users upon request.
